This was a trial run for me see whether or not I should try and travel out of the states to sell my artwork, and my comic books. There were some ups and down doing a convention out of my general area which is in California. Just add my grandma in Marietta, so I made an opportunity to go see her as well. I had to take an airplane trip to get there which is pretty pricy get a round trip ticket for a con, which was fortunate that I had an American Express card on hand and was able to purchase the ticket thru the point I gathered over the years. I was not able to bring every single product with me because there is a weight limit to Baggage claim thru Delta Air line, so the Mystery Folders, and several poster had to stay home, due to size and weight restrictions

I packed all my books with me in my carry on luggage and computer since there isn't a weight limit to how much you can carry on... "Why didn't I just mail them to my grandma?" Well that was the first thing I did, I sent a package to my Grandma, thinking that I will only have to bring my clothes and my posters (including a new back drop that fits inside my large suitcase) on the trip to Georgia and bring everything back (I'm a strong lad). The Package did made it to Grandmas, just the content inside of it didn't made it. Some where along they way the package ripped during transition and I lost about 40 graphic novels, and 50 comic books. Many other artist had the same outcome like what I had and basically said "Really their nothing you can do about if they lost your work thru the mail. Make a claim if you can, but really you are out of luck there." So I carried my book with me.... Thank USPS....

Ok so I rambled a bit about the travel issue, I traveled to the Home 2Suite by Hilton in Atlanta for the con. How was the con? For me I did well, I was expecting to gain a lot of followers and a lot of sale at the show. I was under the impression that ATL Comic con company also run the Phoenix Fan Fusion (mistaken it for FanX expo in Salt Lake)  I made my table in the first day, which was very nice. Second day I did better. It was my most profiting day for sales. Sunday are usually a hit or miss people were buying, or saying that they spend all their money too soon. If I was living in Georgia, I would of made a lot on profit. But expense took a bit of my income, I made less than expected. So as a seller make sure you have a lot to sell. My issue 1 of Joe hero and the Graphic Novel were the most bought item at the con. The new Spiderman poster was the best seller at the con.

Most of the other artist around me had struggled a bit to sell their own stuff. I only know of two other artist that I met at previous cons were able to make profit without any real worries on their finances. It is a shame to see many artist struggle to barely get cover the table for selling the past three days. The venue had the artist alley section dead in the middle of the exibit hall directing traffic in a different walking pattern from the rest of the show. Some attendee got confused but it not that complicated. It was not an issue for me. Still, morale was pretty low for many seller. I made some friends at the show too.

Will I come back?   Maybe...
For me to keep selling at conventions, I have many thing to determine. I made good money, just not a lot. I am still planning to experiment with out-of-state convention to see how profitable they can be. I'll need to prep a little harder to do a show this far away to try again. But for now I'll keep closer to the West Side of the USA.

Other recommendation, Future club was fun, wish I knew more people to get comfortable with. The Marietta Hobbs Museum was a fantastic art museum, containing many illustrator art inside. The World of Coca Cola was fun to go try the experimental soda and international drink they made, and the Aquarium was alot of fun to go to as well. I ate at the Hudson Grill where they had a lot of beer and burger and more Chief Fans cheering for a disappointing game for the 49ers.

up next, Simi Valley Comic con.

Welcome to the New Year. Glad that we survived 2022.

A good buddy did a major donation to the Graphic Novel project that I am happy for. Were so close, I can almost taste it. Lawl.

My new year Resolution is to Not be so hard on myself and ask for help more often. Gonna try to make more books, and more art posters, and get out more.

This whole last year I been pretty much a hermit. I kept in contact with a few buddies, and working on making new ones. I lost a few which I wanted to have in my life, but that is life.

For the non art stuff, The Nye Family is moving into a new place, so were Purging and Getting rid of old stuff. The house is an improvement to the current house, We plan to do some remodeling, but it is in a livable state. I've also been working on my GMC Motorhome and got the Brakes to finally work. I can drive around get more of together. My next goal on the motorhome is to take care of leakage and interior designs.

That's all for the first post of the year, I hope to see you guys at Pasadena Comic Con on January 29, 2022

So watching Black Adam, I can’t say I don’t like it. It actually a good film. The cast is well done, pacing is a little off, but not in anyway that I can express that it can be improved on. I love how it introduced other heroes to increase the roster of dc universe. I like Brosman as dr.Fate, and the story is actually decent to have a fun time to watch. I guess the major issue it is that I already seen it on previous things. Most of the superhero film had pretty much been had same idea and saturated to the point where you can predict what’s is gonna happen before it show up. To be said, this movie could of been a stronger flick if it was made maybe 10 years earlier or something like that. Knowing what I see now superhero flick is todays 80 action flick, some will remembered for how awesome and original they can be while the other 80 percent will be forgotten because they all have the same voice. Black Adam to me would be at least an 8/10 of you treat this film with out the comparison of other hero films. Which can be difficult, it share the same interest as aquaman, spiderman far from home, suicide squad: director cut, antman, or Thor dark world. But what do I know. Give it a watch. I though it was bad ass that Henry Cavill showed up (to bad that we won’t have a Man of steel 2) even Shazam didn’t have that golden opportunity given to them.
On a side note, I notice a Dcu continuity when watching these films.
-Amanda Waller is basically the thread that share the dcu together, so you know what ever you see what she’s is in is the person defining the universe beyond snider cut and etc. If only Warner bros. can get their shit together to imitate what marvel already did or better yet, just keep all the story separate from each other and treat the cinema as a graphic novel persae. No story have to relate to another one. You can see what DC animated had done, and the should be given their own Oscar for how well their animation department is.
Getting back to the movie, I liked black Adam, but not love it. Go watch it, you might be surprised how well it is.

Just returned From Bakersfield Comic Con

Been going there for many years, alway great to see some old faces. Sales were good and people are always nice to me. Most Interesting that bako has a bad rep for being a ghetto city or unsafe one, It doesnt take away the fandom that make it all worth while.

Also the Renaissance Faire outside the show has a unique feature, showing battle simulation, axe throwing and archery. Would love to gone if I had someone watch the booth for me to take break sometime to view.

Usually Sunday will alway be a slower start up since bako is a very church like town. But after 12 crowds were soaring in to buy stuff.

A big plus that Bakerfield comic con had upgraded the Area for the Artist alley to have a bigger building to attract more people and the results had shown.

Would definitely go here again.
Course the thing I would ask for is more cosplayer, but it was winter time. so yea.

Hellraiser (2022)

Always been a fan of Hellraiser franchise, and I know they make terrible sequel;
But finally they made a decent one. I recommend a viewing if you into grotesque leviathan being movies.
Pro:
Cenobite are interesting to see, the art people kept close to the vest to keeping it like the original while at the same time making their design uniquely their own. (Probably the choice of leather for outfits). They don’t look like recycles copies. Most have a female anatomy (wait until people complain about that, heh) which does have a more balance male/female/thing ratio in the works
Rules of the game is interesting too. Won’t spoil it.
Without knowing previous film, this movie give you all the details of the lore as if it could carry itself like an original.
Story is well paced, and very clear.
Con:
Main characters. They unfortunately suffer the same fate like all horror films, why bother to care for them.
They don’t push the bar. You seen it once, you seen it 11 times (yea their that many) but I don’t want to really push part. I think this is better than almost most of them. Some were killed off screen, but that’s Hulu for ya.
Conclusion:
I like what I got, was very satisfied with the quality Hulu throws in. They did very well bring in fan favorite like Predator and add a little twist to the recipe to make it into Prey. Same idea with hellraser 2022, You get what you order, may taste different but it a pleasant meal either way.
Got watch it or not, you heard my thought.

You can't win them all.
It's a shame.
I am, however, going to try other options in the future, possibly a Paypal donation system.
I had accumulated roughly 150 dollars in anonymous funds, so maybe that a possibility to continue that method.

Thank you all for pledging and Ill inform you of future works.
